the first casualty….
one of the part timers no longer works for us…
there was a theological argument (or so I heard) this morning between
our resident sophist and this gentleman…..
I could see this coming….
he was frustrated with the return policy,
(actually what he perceived as a lack
of a consistent return policy) as well as the rank pulling tricks and
lies some of our customers try to run past us….
he wasn’t here long enough to convert the anger
into resignation, as I have….
I may not have all the information on this situation,
but I was surprised at how I found out about his dismissal…
I was waiting for him to return from lunch.
This new regime, as I like to call it,
has its plusses and minuses….
There is less indulgence of customer
neuroses and histrionics…..
but there is also a good deal of scrambling around,
remerching, making all the moves while things are
more disposed to sweeping change….
it’s good, provided that this disturbance isn’t the new equilibrium…
