[FMChurch] Help God, I need more money

without comments

OK, I know what I usually say about this blog
consisting only of my own opinions,
but this email was really cool.

“Dear God, I need more money.”

All of us have prayed this prayer
at one time or another,
and it’s a tough place to be, isn’t it?

And now, in the middle of a
tough economic down-turn,
lots of us find ourselves often
uttering these very words to God.

“Help God, I need more money.”

So what do we do after we pray this?

What steps does God ask us to take
in advance of His provision in our lives?

That’s what we’ll be looking at this weekend
in our services as we take a look
at this very real need
in a very practical way.

And as part of all our services this weekend,
we’ll be doing Parent / Child dedications
as well as hearing about an investment
that Bethel made recently to
“Be The Light” around the world.

I know you’ll be very encouraged in our services this weekend,
so why not bring some friends with you as well?

Looking forward to all God will do this weekend!

Detours in Life

without comments

Have you ever wondered why God
always seems to take us on detours in life?

Why He seldom takes us directly
from “point A” to “point B,” preferring instead
to let us wander around for a while
before finally getting us to
where we thought He wanted us all along?

Wouldn’t it make more sense if God
took us directly to our destination
instead of “wasting” our time allowing us to “wander??”

What if God has a purpose in letting us “wander?”

What if He’s VERY intentional about this?

That’s what we’ll be looking at this weekend
as we kick-off our new study, “Be The Light.”

We’ll be looking at the reality that God often uses
our “wandering ” to get us ready for
what He knows is ahead of us.

We see the “wandering” as a waste of time,
but God sees it as preparation.

So for all of us who have ever felt frustrated by
the pace of our progress in life,
this is going to be an interesting topic!

And why not invite a friend
so they can be encouraged with you?

Looking forward to this weekend!
