Why my Facebook page won’t have Twitter posts anymore
I guess the twitter post about the Wharton Grad had something to do with this.
Backtracking a bit…
The store where I work
has a Facebook group
and uses Facebook to advertise.
I’m a member of that group.
My Facebook page autoposts
all of my tweets.
Not the brightest move.
Got called on it today.
I’ve essentially gutted my facebook page - it’s now a
collection of inoffensive
notes and carefully worded
statements from now on.
No animosity - I don’t even use it that much.
just feeling like another
page is turning.
The way out is through…
I’ve been reminded by stuff that’s going on
in my life now that you don’t so much get
picked up and dropped off as you get to walk
the whole way between two places.
Society’s a big fan of the pickup/dropoff model,
since it fits into it’s marketing and message.
Buy the car or the clothes and get your soulmate;
buy the beer and get a cadre of bon vivant cronies.
The product is salvation,
and salvation comes through buying the product.
I wish.
The true way out of things is through -
a sometimes slow and slogging walk.
This walk will get you to where you want to be.
Eventually.
That’s the big hangup term for me and others like me…
Eventually.
Not at Internet speed.
Not on a HD ready plasma screen.
Not on mp3, 3gp, or iPod Video.
Eventually.
