Routines, cables, and SEPTA strike day 3
Last night was a little rushed,
but I got home OK.
It seems that the routine that
I’m not keen on I’m getting to get used to.
Have a “meeting” about stock levels
In the cable aisle - we’ll see how well that goes..
Day 3 of the strike -
and something has occurred to me -
As it seems that the sticking point in negotiations
is health care payments, wouldn’t it be
A salient point to bring up how much non-union
SEPTA employees pay for their health care?
Then we could approach the problem from
A parity standpoint.
If non-union SEPTA employees don’t pay,
Then SEPTA is asking the unions to effectively
Subsidize the non-union employees’ health plan.
If non-union employees do pay,
Then SEPTA should ask for parity in contributions,
But be willing to concede slightly,
So as to give the union a concession
With which they can bring to their members.
