December 27th, 2007Day after Christmas.
My grandnephew’s first Christmas -
a first for the firstborn of a new family.
Cameras and pictures abounded,
as is normally the case.
The wonder of our gifts subsumed
by the wonder of the child,
which is, again, as it should be.
Come to think of it, if you slapped a
capital C on the word child, you’ve got
the Christmas spirit as it should be.
First the Child,
then the Son,
then the Servant,
then the Sacrifice,
then the Savior,
then the Sovereign.
But not much is as it
should be these days;
what may be,
what can be
is lost in what is
or seems to be.
Don’t look at me as if
I have any of the answers -
I barely have the right questions.
