Felt like crap…. still do….

just relaxing and recovering……

had to take down a few reposted articles
per the author’s request….

will write something that links to the articles
if I get to it later on…

I’m going to lay off reposting articles for a while,
mainly because of something in the aforementioned
author’s email to me…

he had mentioned that this seemed to be a “feed scraper” site -
and when I looked at my last couple of week’s worth of entries,
I had to admit that he had a point…..

so I may not be blogging as much,
but it will all be my stuff, or just links to other people’s blogs…

Gizmo — Free Internet Calling the Open Standards Way

Free Internet calling has always been plagued by a lack of interoperability.
This was true of the startup companies of the 90’s Internet bubble era
or the more recent popular service Skype as well.
The Gizmo project plans to change that with open standards and open networks.

Skype is based on proprietary technology which means that only users of the Skype software or phones can only make free Internet calls with other Skype users.
Gizmo users can potentially make free calls to any system that decides to
make use of the same open standards.

Although Skype has a head start in terms of user base, this may quickly change.

Gizmo not only has open standards going for it. The free Gizmo software offers free voice mail and does not use your computer to route other calls as Skype does due to the P2P nature of the Skype service.

Just as with Skype, you can also call land-line and mobile phones with Gizmo for very low per-minute fee and receive calls to a regular telephone number by paying a small monthly fee.

performance 3 - just got in….

Monday, April 3rd, 2006

I’m tired.
mainly because I lost the lower PVC support during the performance
and did most ofthe show standing….

the crowd was lively,
and would quite frequently react by talking to the characters
(which almost had me cracking up….. right before the death scene, too)

this was, however, not without its down elements…
one of our cast members totaled his car on the way here
(he and his passenger were both OK)

also had a fun time getting our new crankstands to work with our
old t-bars and new fresnels…

definitely need to get new t-bars…..

Penn Indy Online - An Open Letter to Aileen Kyung Kim

My Dearest Aileen…

I have a confession to make, and I’m sorry that this is the way I have to go about it;
I know the news will be highly disheartening to you, but I feel that it must be done.
My heart just won’t let me hold back the truth from you any longer.

I’m white, Aileen.
Not like Jason Kidd or Mariah Carey. I’m actually, legitimately white.

I imagine this revelation has caused some palpable distress to come over your angelic face. You could never have imagined this possibility to manifest itself, but sadly, it has. You should have noticed the hints, Aileen.
Everyone else saw it coming; why couldn’t you?

You invited me to the Wharton Latino Career Conference, but I didn’t come.
You invited me to the Minority Internship Panel
and the Minority Internship Fair, but I didn’t come.
You invited me to an Info Session for students of color,
but still I did not come.
You even told me of an internship opportunity for Iranian-Americans.
I didn’t even know those existed! The point remains though: I did not come.

I have to ask, Aileen: what amalgamation of races did you think I was all this time?
Might it have crossed your mind that I was just white,
like the vast majority (65 percent) of last year’s incoming class?
