Anonymously Track a PC Anywhere on Net - Remote physical device fingerprinting

Slashdot links to a ZDNet article exploring a new technique to identify (and track) PC’s on the internet by “exploiting small, microscopic deviations in device hardware: clock skews.” The technique is obviously of interest to the surveillance community, and could also be used by ISP’s to identify and count the number of devices behind a NAT router.
